Andrew J. Lonce

Andrew J. Lonce, age 90 of Star Junction passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Anna Lisa’s Touch of Home with his loving family by his side. He was born on November 1, 1926 in Star Junction, a son of Michael Lonce and Mary Starofsky Lonce.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: infant children, Michael and John; all of his siblings.

Andy is survived by his children: Andrew P. Lonce and his wife Tenie of Lake Station, Indiana, Wayne A. Lonce and his wife Molly A. of Star Junction, Joseph P. Lonce and his wife Patricia of Monongahela, Andrea Race and her husband Ronald of Imperial, Missouri; grandchildren: Andrew Jr., Kristinia, Apryl, Erin, Wayne Jr., Josh, Adam, Joe, Teddy and Kevin; great grandchildren: Shaana, Nasi, Steven, Margaret, Juliet, Bruce, Bailey, Aiden, Austin, Katherine, Ashly, and Natalie;  great great grandchildren: Jase and Ariel; numerous nieces and nephews; in addition to his own children he raised: Betty, Kappy, Mary Lou,  Paulie and Darlene.

Andy served his country in the Navy. He enjoyed bowling and was active playing soft ball until he reached the age of 56. He was employed by U.S.S. for 38 years.

Andy’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA. where Prayers of Transfer will be said on Thursday, November 17, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, PA with the Rev. Father Anthony Ditto as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St John the Baptist Cemetery where full Military Rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post Gold Star 7023 and American Legion Post 752 of Perryopolis, PA.

Andy’s family would like to extent a special thanks to the staff at Anna  Lisa’s Touch of Home for their outstanding care.

The Rosary will be said at 3 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon.
