Mary Ruth (Green) Kifer

Mary Ruth (Green) Kifer, age 96 formerly of Perryopolis passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. She was born on April 25, 1920 a daughter of Gilbert Porter Green and Daisy Pearl Warnick Green.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of forty one years, Clarence Ray Kifer; sisters: Wilma Poteray, Carol Kanes, Helen Beck, Lois Sauritch; brothers: Robert Green and Frank Green.

Mary was a lifelong member of Fairview Methodist Church of Laureldale. She was also an active member of the Perryopolis Senior Center. She loved doing puzzles, ceramics and was an avid card player.

She is survived by her children: Linda Kay Masneri and her husband Dr. Authur Masneri of Perryopolis, Penny Sue Timcheck and her husband William of Somerset, John G. Kifer and his wife Philomena of Perryopolis; Grandchildren: Brad Huwar, Mike Huwar, Laura Matarazzo, Brian Horton, Joe Timcheck, Melinda Jacob, Mary Ellen Timcheck, Eric Kifer, Kari Kifer, Patrick Black, Dr. David Masneri  and Kevin Masneri; Great Grandchildren: Nathan Huwar, Anna Huwar, Victoria Huwar, Jessica Huwar, Michael Huwar, Sophia Huwar, Isabella Huwar, John Matarazzo, Gabrielle Matarazzo, Carmella Matarazzo, John Jacob, Patrick Jacob, Connor Jacob, Hannah Jacob, Nicholas Jacob, Alysha Timchek, David Masneri, Ryan Masneri, Olivia Masneri, Luke Masneri, Gregg Masneri and Theresa Masneri; brother, Jack Green and his wife Beverly of Charleroi; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.     

Mary’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2016 in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA. Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016 in the Perryopolis United Methodist Church 203 Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA with Rev. Vann Walchock, officiating. (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH) Interment to follow in the Monongahela Cemetery, Monongahela, PA. The family has requested that contributions be made to the charity of your choice in memory of our mother, Mary R. Kifer.
