Anna Marie (Tirpak) Zayakosky

Anna Marie (Tirpak) Zayakosky age 93 of Star Junction, PA passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2016 in Lafayette Manor, Uniontown, PA.

She was born in Victoria, Fayette County, PA on March 30, 1923, daughter of Steven Tirpak and Sophia Huzinecz Tirpak.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Joseph Zayakosky, Sr., Siblings: Mary Kovach, Alec Terpok, John Tirpak, Helen Wagner,

She graduated from Perryopolis High School attended Pennsylvania State College in Pittsburgh where she studied engineering and defense programs and graduated. She then worked with H. H. Robison Co designing airplanes and V bombs. 

Anna and her husband owned and operated the Zayakosky Bakery in Perryopolis, PA for fortyfive years. She was a member of Saint Nicholas Byzentine Catholic Church where she was secretary of the Alter Society.

Anna is survived by five children: Nadine Connelly and her husband Gary of Jacksonville, NC, Annette Kent and her husband John of Elco, Julia Zaitz and her husband Frank of Greensburg, Stephen Zayakosky and his wife Ramona of Perryopolis, Nicholas Zayakosky and his wife Pam of Perryopolis; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; brother, Stephen Tirpak of Conway; many nieces and nephews.   

Anna’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, July 24, 2016 in the Blair -Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA.

Parastas will be held in the funeral home on Sunday 6 p.m. 

Panachida Monday morning at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home, Liturgy of Christian Burial will be said on Monday, July 25, 2016 at 10 a.m. in Saint Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church.

Interment to follow in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Perryopolis, PA.
