Zita Marie (Poling) Shaw

Zita Marie Poling Shaw, age 82, of Perryopolis, Pa passed away peacefully in her home on May 19, 2026. She was born in Brownsville, Pa, a daughter of late John and Pauline Novinsky Poling.

Zita enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping and playing bingo at the Senior Center. She also liked sitting on the porch coloring and looking at her flowers. She was also a devout catholic throughout her life and a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, James H. Shaw, Jr.;

daughters: Rita Kapolka (Dennis), Jeanette Adams (Henry); grandchildren: Robert, Nina, Shannon, Nicholas, Caitlin, Zoe, Abby; sisters: Lillian Parks (Chuck), Paulette Perazzola (Pete), Theresa Christner (Ray).

Zita’s family will receive friends on Friday, May 22, 2026 from 3-7 p.m. at the Blair Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Rear 305 Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa where Prayers of Transfer will be prayed at 9:30 a.m.. on Saturday, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, PA. Interment will follow in St Mary of the Assumption Cemetery, Brownsville, (Hiller) Pa.
