Vera Nadia (Sawchuk) Galla

Vera Nadia Sawchuk Galla, age 89, of Grindstone, PA passed away on Monday, August 20, 2019 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Jersey City, NJ on July 24, 1930, a daughter of Frank and Mary Hayvey Sawchuk.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Sawchuk.

Vera is survived by her loving husband of 53years, Eugene Raymond Galla; son, Paul Steven Galla and his wife Dana of Merritstown; grandchildren: Joshua, Jessica and Jaden; sister, Olga Olesko of New Jersey.

Vera’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA. where Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at the Saint Cecilia Church, Grindstone, PA, with Father Thumma Fathimareddy, celebrant. Interment is private.

Members of Saint Cecilia R. C. Church will pray the Rosary in the funeral home at 3 p.m. on Friday.
