Roy Custer Jr., age 77 of Lemont Furnace, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, September 28, 2019. He was born on July 20, 1942 in Layton, a son of Roy and Mamie Huey Custer and Bill and Reva Firestone.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings: Kenny, Irvin and Rose.
Roy proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a collector of many things.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Darwin Custer, Stacy (Steve) Meyers, Dana (Floyd Leonard) Custer, Jamie Custer (Brian Hone), Brian Custer; step son, Chris McQuillan; grandchildren: Jaryd Custer, Garett Shoemaker, Hattie Shoemaker, D. J. Custer, Aaron Fazenbaker, Lindsay Custer, Taylor Custer, Neveah Custer, Connor Fox; step granddaughter, Abigail McQuillan; great grandchildren: Peyton, Parker, Landon, Tahari; siblings: Trent Custer, Francis (Bonnie) Custer, Frank (Nancy) Custer, Mary Collins; faithful companion, co-pilot and partner in crime, Pete, his beloved dog.
Roy’s family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, where his funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Interment is private.
