Ronald George Matway

Ronald George Matway, age 73 of Perryopolis passed away suddenly on Friday, June 28, 2019 at his farm. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 25, 1946, the son of George and Mildred Sethman Matway.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his infant son, Ronald Joseph Matway.

Ron was a lifelong member of St. John the Baptist R. C. Church. He worked as a welder for several companies and enjoyed working on his farm.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty one years, Rosemary Zitney Matway; daughters: Catherine Rubis and her husband Gregory of Perryopolis,  Cynthia Zentek and her husband Curtis of New Eagle; grandchildren: John Fidel, Caitlin Marie Swink and her husband Adam, Olivia Zentek; great grandchildren: Lillian, Adam, Jr. and Myla.

Ron’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Blair Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA where Prayers of Transfer will be said at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. at St. John the Baptist R. C. Church. Interment will follow in St John’s Cemetery, Perryopolis. PA.

Members of St. John the Baptist R. C. Church will pray the Rosary at 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday in the funeral home.
