Obituary for Ralph Odell Lee
September 27, 1949 – September 6, 2026
Ralph will be missed by family and friends for his dedication to his parents, son and daughter and grandchildren. He enjoyed family time on trips to the beach and mountains, sports and visits with relatives. Ralph enjoyed being in close contact with his mom, Dolores, having many wonderful conversations until her passing last year. He attended events with his children including baseball, karate, dance recitals and school events. Spending time with his two grandchildren playing chess and checkers was special, as well as going to their favorite restaurants with “Pap-Pap”. He had a lifelong love for music which began during his high school years at Seneca Valley High School and continued at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA where he earned a B.S. degree in Music Education. His music career continued as an elementary school teacher in Coalwood, WV and serving for 3 years in the U.S. Army as a bandsman.
Ralph had a successful career in the computer industry, first as a field technician, then as an instructor and computer networking specialist. He was part of a company jazz band that performed for special events.
He participated in taekwondo and earned a 1st degree black belt. He also was active in church choir and was a Mason for many years. Ralph was a car enthusiast who enjoyed car shows, researching new models, and had many discussions with his dad Odell Lee about their common interest in cars. He was a sci-fi enthusiast who loved Star Trek and Doctor Who. He had a love for animals that began on the farm where he spent part of his childhood. He was active in showing his cow, “Judy” at numerous fairs and farm shows where he won quite a few ribbons.
Ralph is survived by wife Christine Lee of Monroe, NC; son Adam Lee and wife Kelsey of Indian Trail, NC; daughter Heather Lee of Monroe, NC; sister Iris Jordan and husband Richard of Fredericksburg, VA; Gary Lee and wife Annie of Rio Vista, TX; and brother Dale Lee and wife Rose of Butler, PA.
