Norma Bordash Obituary

Norma Jean (Greco) Bordash died peacefully on December 11, 2024. She was born on July 20, 1930 in Belle Vernon, PA to Rose (Basile) and Frank Greco, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George Bordash, and brother, Angelo Greco.

Norma graduated in 1948 from Belle Vernon High School, where she was known for her gorgeous smile, pleasantness, and energy.

She had a strong work ethic, and was employed by Valdiserri's Bakery in her youth. She later worked at Linden Hall and the Perryopolis sewing factory.

Norma met the love of her life, George Bordash, at a dance. They got married on February 13, 1954. They moved to George's hometown of Perryopolis, PA in 1957. She was a homemaker, great cook, and fabulous baker. She liked spending time at Linden Hall, shopping, and going to the Meadows and Wheeling Racetracks. She also enjoyed traveling with George to many states, and visiting her daughter and grandchildren in Erie.

She became active in the Flower Club, Red Hat Society, Perryopolis Senior Center, and Center on the Hill in Belle Vernon. She enjoyed reading, movies, crafts, singing, Rummikub, bingo, and spending time with family - especially her great-grandchildren.

She was a member of The First Christian Church in Perryopolis.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Andrea Smith (Robert); her grandchildren, Rosanna Smith (James Marshall) and Alyssa McClelland (Caleb); her great-grandchildren, Levi McClelland and Annemarie Marshall; an aunt, Anna Mae Basile; as well as nieces, nephews, and many cousins.

At Norma's request, her burial will be private. The Blair-Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory in Perryopolis has been entrusted with her professional funeral arrangements.
