James R. Barron of Scottdale, PA, passed away peacefully at home with friends and family by his side on Wednesday April 22, 2026.
Retired from a career in the USAF, he was a veteran of both the Korean and Vietnam wars and a lifelong member of the VFW. He was a lover of all sports especially the Steelers.
He was predeceased in death by his parents, Parsons M. and Agnes (Carnack) Barron; sisters: Beatrice B. House, Nancy Barron; niece, Darlene (House) Redman. Surviving is a sister, Mary Lou Kelley, of West Newton; two nieces: Deborah Lee (Kelley) Merta and husband Frank of West Newton, Denise (House) Zundel and husband John of Vanderbilt; great-nephew, Donald D. Redman, Jr. and wife Maria.
Friends will be received in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA . on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. the time of his funeral service. Interment to follow at Green Ridge Cemetery, Connellsville with full military rites and honors being accorded by the AMVETS General George C. Marshal Post #103 of Hopwood, PA.
