Edward Rabatin Obituary

Edward John Rabatin, age 94 of Star Junction, PA passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018. He was born in Star Junction, a son of Steve Rabatin and Catherine (Sharish) Rabatin.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years in 2003, Bernice (Gilland) Rabatin; son, Larry Rabatin.

He was a lifelong resident of Star Junction where he served as Justice of the Peace. Ed proudly served his country during WWII in the U S Army under General Patton’s /third Army, 87th Infantry Division, 312th Medical Battalion, served at the Battle of the Bulge.  He retired from United States Steel at Irvin Works. He was a parishioner of St. John the Baptist Church, Perryopolis, PA. 

Ed is survived by daughter, Judith Taylor and husband David of Cranberry Twp.; son, Gary Rabatin and wife Susan of Belle Vernon; daughter-in-law, Betty Lou Rabatin of Star Junction; 8 grandchildren: Lisa Rabatin Waid (Gerald), Erin Rabatin Kress (Jay), Brandy Rabatin Stringhill, (Frank), Michele Via Vannucci, Melissa Taylor Martinosky (Marty), Sherri Taylor (Chad), Jacob Rabatin (Andrea) and Jonathon Rabatin (Ashley); 12 great-grandchildren: Alyx and Logan Vannucci, Mina and Evan Waid, Mckenna and Matthew Martinosky, Skylar and Lily Stringhill, Jayden and Rylan Kress, Colby and Chase Rabatin.

Ed’s family would like to acknowledge the staff at Laurel Ridge Center, Uniontown, PA for the wonderful care they provided during the years that Dad made his home there and also OSTPA Hospice of Charleroi, PA for the care and support they provided. Our sincerest thanks go out to each and everyone of you.

In honoring Ed’s request there will be no public visitation and his professional funeral services have been entrusted to the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, Perryopolis, PA.
