Edith Ann (Dayton) Masney

Edith Ann Dayton Masney, age 92, of Perryopolis, PA died Friday December 6, 2019 with her loving daughter, Diana by her side. She was born April 9, 1927 in Redstone, PA, a daughter of Roy Dayton, Jr and Clare Marie McPhail Dayton.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Masney, Sr. (8/26/96); son, David Joseph Masney (8/8/07); grandson, Eric Jason Ansell (7/16/96); 4 brothers: Rod, James, Gene, Butch; sister, Janet.

She was a loving caring mother and did without for the betterment of her children and grandchildren, She loved to sit out on her back porch that was a gathering point for neighbors and friends, You could call her on the telephone almost any summer evening and the neighbor closest to the telephone would answer. She was a fulltime housewife, excellent baker and took pride in her home. She had a plan for every day.

She is survived by her children: Deborah Elaine Miller (Lloyd) of Sautee Nacoochee, GA, Frank Masney, Jr. (Christal) of Perryopolis, Diana Sue Green (Mathew) of Merritstown, PA; grandchildren: Brian, Theresa, Megan, Jeremy, Cullen; great grandchildren: Brady, Olivia, Simon, Sam, Brooklynn; sister, Eleanor  “Honey”.

Edith’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2019 at the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA. Additional visitation will be held Tuesday from 9-10 a.m., the hour of her funeral service at the Perryopolis Christian Church with Rev. Melissa Rae Synder, officiating. Entombment will follow at the Lafayette Memorial Park Mausoleum, Brier Hill, PA.
