Dolores "Jean" Jean (Whoric) Helms

Dolores Jean Helms 87 of Vanderbilt, Pa passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at her home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Connellsville, a daughter of John V. and Esther Welling Helms.

In addition to her parents she was preceded by her husband, George William Helms; brothers: Larry and Ronald; sister, Ruth.

Jean is survived by her children: Russell W. Helms, Craig A. Helms, Kimberly D. Tressler, Brad L. Helms; four grandchildren: Brennen (Lily) Tresser, Devon (Frank Hart) Tressler, Jerod Helms, Shelby Helms; six great grandchildren; sister, Sandy (Melvin) Rogerson; niece, Lynn  (Jim “GeGe”) Elwell.

As a child Jean loved riding the streetcars, most of all she loved her family. She work at Crown Cork & Seal in Connellsville until her retirement in 1998.

Jean’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at the Blair Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA where her funeral service will be held t 11 a.m. on Friday. Interment will follow in Dickerson Run Union Cemetery, Vanderbilt, Pa.
