It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of David (Dave) Michael Rabatin, Sr a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, stepfather, brother, uncle, and friend, who left this world due to complications from an automobile accident. Dave was welcomed into heaven on December 7, 2024, where he was reunited with his cherished wife, Nancy, who recently passed away & he missed dearly.

Dave was born on April 29, 1944, to Andrew Stephen Sr. and Katheryn (Petrosky) Rabatin.

Dave was raised in Perryopolis, PA, on his family farm, a place he loved dearly.  Dave was devoted to his family.  He was the loving father of David (Chrissy) Rabatin of Elizabeth Twp, PA, Kristin Fine (Jimmy) of Monongahela, PA, and Angela Rabatin ( Steve) of Point Marion, Pa.  Devoted Grandfather to Ashley (Michael) Smith, Maggie Williams, and Brianna Rabatin, along with the joy of being a great-grandfather to Leo Smith.  Stepfather to Holly Whipkey (Kelly), and Jamie Williams (Pete).

He is survived by two sisters, Dolores Johnson of Belle Vernon and Marion Timko of Perryopolis and two brothers, Leonard Rabatin (Linda) of Williamstown, WV, Twin brother, next door neighbor & best friend to Daniel (Ira) of Perryopolis, PA.  Preceded in death were his brothers, Andrew "Rune" Rabatin of Perryopolis, PA & John Rabatin of Buckeye, Arizona.

Dave cherished the simple pleasures of life. His greatest joy was spending time on his porch with Nancy, savoring a Stoney's beer as they listened to Johnny Cash.  He was a loyal member of the Sokol Club, Fish & Game Club, VFW & Sons of Italy. 
Dave loved being outdoors, fishing & hunting with his son, Dave, mowing the lawn, playing the lottery & spending time with family.  His unwavering kindness, and big-hearted nature were characteristics that endeared him to his numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. 

David retired from US Steel Edgar Thomson Plant as a welder.

A celebration of David's life will be held at Blair Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa 15473 on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 2 pm - 4 pm and 6 pm - 7:30 pm with a funeral service at 7:30 pm.  Interment will be at a later date.

Rest in peace, Dad.  Your warmth and spirit will forever shine brightly in our lives.
