Russell Beatty, Sr.

Russell Beatty Sr., age 83, of Smock, Pa., passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 in the Uniontown Hospital.

He was born in Grays Landing, Pa., Thursday, July 19, 1934 son of Clarence and Mary Margaret Beatty.

Russell was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clarence Beatty Jr.; stepfather, Clyde McMurray; ex-wife, Sophia Belosky; daughter -in-law, Joyce Beatty.

Russell proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Russell worked many years as a Coal Miner.

In Washington D.C., he worked at the Gaters Space Center and also at 5.0 Beer Taps Equipment He also cleaned many beer taps in the Fayette County area.

Left to cherish his memory are his fiancee, Betty Vallango; sons: Russell Beatty Jr. and Robert Beatty and wife Kathy; siblings Elizabeth Elentri, Charles Beatty Sr. sister-in-law Paulette, Ronald Beatty Sr.; grand children: Lisa Beatty Abbott and Rusty Beatty; and several great grandchildren; loved by a granddaughter, Cara Fisher, and his nephew, Robert Pazicni, who was his chauffeur, buddy and helper; also many nieces, nephews, and numerous relatives, close friends.

He was a member of Smock Rod & Gun Club, the Fireman's Club in Smock, American Legion in Braznell, Pa., and the AMVETS, Hopwood, Pa.

Russell enjoyed listening to bands and dancing at Coal Hill Tavern in Brownsville with his fiancee Betty Vallango and family, also watching TV programs and Pittsburgh Steelers games with his dog, Coco.

Russell was well liked by many people and will be very much missed by those who knew him.

He was buried at Saint Hedwig's Cemetery Smock, Pa., Wednesday, February 7, 2018. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
