Melvin R. Gardner

Gardner, Melvin R. age 72 of Perryopolis passed away on Monday, May 15, 2017 in Monongahelia Valley Hospital with his loving family by his side. He was born on March 28, 1945 in Dawson, PA  a son of John L. Gardner and Lida M. (Sechrist) Gardner.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: son, William Scott Gardner; great granddaughter, Faith Fike; brother, Ralph Gardner, sister, Thelma Hartman.

Melvin was the owner of Melvin’s Service Center in Perryopolis for 41 years. He attended many car shows and loved to fish.

Melvin is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Horner) Gardner; daughters: Lisa Fike of Uniontown, Michelle and her husband Jerry Gardner of Perryopolis; grandchildren: Ashley Fike, Joshua Gardner, Jessica Fike, Brianna Gardner, Sierra Gardner; great granddaughter, Paislee Skonezny; brothers: Lewis and his wife Janet Gardner of Dawson, Carl Gardner of Dawson; sister: Margaret Vargo of Irwin.

Melvin’s family will receive friends Tuesday, May 16, 2017 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA where his funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017 with Pastor Michael Lyons, officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made to the family c/o Blair Lowther Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Connellsville, PA.
