John Francis Schumacher

John Francis Schumacher, age 71 of Perryopolis, PA, passed away Thursday, February 2, 2017, in his home.

He was born August 17, 1945, in Perryopolis, Fayette County, PA, a son of Earl Schumacher and Annabelle (Flanigan) Schumacher.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, James (Jimmy) Schumacher and a sister, Barbara (Bernie) Winslow.

John is survived by his wife of 51 years, Alice J. (Heckathorn) Schumacher; three children:  John Michael Schumacher, Lisa Buchina (Jeffrey), Lesley Schumacher all of Perryopolis, PA.  He was a devoted grandfather to his grandchildren: Jaimie Hirbar (Billy) of Smithton, Darryl Stewart of Uniontown and Sarah Buchina of Perryopolis; great grandsons Jase and Cole Hirbar.  Surviving also are two sisters: Madonna Rathway (Robert) of Rostraver Twp., Peggy Sizemore of Perryopolis, PA and a brother, Thomas E. Schumacher (Maureen) of North Huntington Twp.

John was a lifelong member of Perryopolis Volunteer Fire Company.

In honoring John’s request the visitation and service were private. Interment followed in Mt. Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis, PA.

John’s professional funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA 15473.
