Greta Lee (Griffiths) Smith

Greta Lee Griffiths Smith, age 77, of Dunbar, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2017th surrounded by her loving family and friends.  She was born in McKeepsort, PA, on August 25, 1939 the daughter of Robert Griffiths and Nerida Jean Salsi Griffiths.

Greta was a 1958 graduate of Glassport High School. She owned and operated “New To You”, a consignment/resale shop in the West Side of Connellsville for numerous years.  

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James Dallas Smith; sisters: Barb and Carol. 

Her passion was collecting antiques from her “junkin” endeavors. She will be sadly missed by her sons J.R. and Eric, granddaughter, Jamie and many special friends. She cherished her relationship with God and her friends. Greta always wanted to be remembered as always trying to be kind to others  

Greta is survived by her beloved sons, James Robert “JR” of Dunbar, and Eric Ray of Uniontown; one granddaughter, Jamie Lynn.

Greta’s family would like to thank Susie Tabaj and her family for their generosity during Greta’s time of need.

Greta’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday March 22, 2017 in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA where additional visitation will take place on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. the hour of her funeral service with Chaplain Perry Billman, officiating. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth, PA.
