Gail W. Imblum, age 88 of Perryopolis, PA passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at his daughter’s home. He was born on April 22, 1930 in Overbrook (Pittsburgh), a son of William John Imblum and Mitilda Yago Imblum.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 44 years, Gloria JoAnn Gillespie Imblum; brothers: William Imblum and Raymond Imblum.
He was drafted into the U S Army in 1955, went to Fort Knox and was stationed in Prince, WV for 2 months, in 1957. While there he meet JoAnn at Oak Hill, WV and they married in Boomer, WV at St. Anthony’s R. C. Church.
During his early life he worked for his brother Bill at Imblum Electric on Route 51 in Overbrook. He was later employed at Browning Ferris Industries in Etna and Carnegie, PA as a diesel mechanic where he retired at age 58. He was an avid dirt track sprint car fan.
He is survived by his children: daughter, Debra A. Lindsey and her husband James “Fuzz” of Perryopolis; son, Thomas M. Imblum of Lewisberry, PA; grandchildren: Jason Lindsey and his wife Taylor, Joshua Lindsey both of Perryopolis; great grandchildren: Camrin, Gavin, Rhyin and Weston; numerous nieces and nephews.
Gail’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, August 10, 2018 in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA where a funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday with Pastor Ken Walls, officiating. Interment to follow in Bowman-Flatwoods Cemetery, Vanderbilt, PA.
