Doris loved to be in her garden, tending her flowers, which she never considered to be work. She could tell you everything about every tree, flower, bird, or bee. She loved finding treasures out in nature, at yard sales and flea markets, and at the church rummage. She loved cooking new recipes, reading all sorts of books, collecting artwork, and enjoying time spent with her dogs, but her greatest joy was her family. She took great delight in making sure that everyone who stopped by, family or not, had a delicious meal and left with a full stomach. No one ever left Mammaw's (Aunt Doris’) home hungry! Her kitchen table was always full of magazines, letters and cards. She had a greeting card for every occasion and never forgot anyone's special day. She was a vibrant, beautiful soul; a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend; and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Doris’ family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA where Prayers of Transfer will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M.in St. John the Baptist R.
