Catherine Mae (Mihalcin) Verba

Catherine Mae Mihalcin Verba, age 84 of Rostraver Twp., Belle Vernon, formerly of Perryopolis, PA passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at the home of her sister. She was born on June 22, 1934 in Van Meter, a daughter of Andrew and Mary Tucker Mihalcin.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John “Barney” Verba; siblings: Margaret Barcovteh, Eleanor Barbus, Steve Mihalcin, Darlene Basista, John Mihalcin.

Caherine is survived by her brother: Robert (Winnie) Mihalcin; sisters: Rose Mihalcin of Whitsett, Susan (Jacob) Hall of Belle Vernon, Mary (Frank) Batronis of Leesburg, FL, Karen (Wayne) Scanlan of Kiser, WV; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Catherine’s family would like to thank Anova Hospice for the wonderful care given to Catherine.       

Catherine’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2019 at the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA where her funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. on Friday with Pastor Michael Lyons, officiating. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Belle Vernon, PA.
