Timothy Michael Smith

Timothy Michael Smith, age 56, Mayor of Perryopolis, PA passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 with his loving family by his side. He was born on December 29, 1959 in Connellsville, PA, son of the late Steven Smith and Irene Carlock Smith.

In addition to his mother, Tim is survived by his wife and best friend, Carol Lynn Cook Smith; three daughters: Stephanie Smith of Perryopolis, Bethany Smith of Point Marion, Cassidy Smith of Perryopolis; step son, Justin Gessel; grandson, Jaxen Rice; step grandson, Nash Gessel; brothers: Stephen Smith of Findlay, OH, Greg Smith and his wife Christine of Darlington, PA; sister, Lisa Ewing and her husband Jeff of Perryopolis; nieces and nephews: Ginger Sampson and her husband Blair, Kaitlyn Smith, Gabrielle Smith;

Tim graduated from Frazier High School, Class of 1978. He has been the Honorable Mayor of the Borough of Perryopolis for the past 15years. Tim is a Master Paratrooper – Special Forces of the Army National Guard for 22 years. He was also a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.

Tim’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA where Prayers of Transfer will be said on Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, PA with the Rev. Father Anthony Ditto as celebrant. Interment will follow in St John the Baptist Cemetery where full Military Rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post Gold Star 7023 and American Legion Post 752 of Perryopolis, PA.
