Thomas James Stewart, Sr.

Thomas James Stewart, Sr., age 74 formerly of Emporium, PA and Flatwoods, PA passed away on Monday, July 18, 2016 in the VA Hospital – Oakland (Pittsburgh, PA). He was born on December 1, 1941 in Continental 3, Fayette County, PA son of Louis Stewart and Myrtle Gould Stewart.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers: Duane Stewart, Wendell Stewart, Gerald Stewart; sister, Dorothy Bradley.

Tom was a truck driver most of his life and an avid outdoorsman.

Tom is survived by his daughter, Melinda Chalfant of Austintown, OH, Thomas J Stewart, Jr., and his wife Amber of Bessemer, PA; grandchildren: Aydan James Stewart and Makenna Jean Stewart; Brother, Barry Stewart and his wife Shelia of Flatwoods.

Tom’s family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2016 in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA where his funeral service will take place at 10 am on Friday, July 22, 2016 with Rev. Dr. D. W. “Chip” Norton, officiating.  Interment to follow in Bowman Flatwoods Cemetery, Flatwoods, PA. where full Military Rites will be accorded by the V.F.W.
