Steve Myers

November 25, 1930 ~ June 12, 2016 (age 85) 85 Years Old


Steve Myers, age 85 of Vanderbilt passed away Sunday, June 12, 2016 in The Residence of Hilltop, Monongahela, PA with his loving family by his side. He was born on November 25, 1930, in Perry Twp., PA a son of Joseph Myers and Katherine Kubina Myers.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters: Carol Ann Clem and Barbara Jean Frazier;  nine brothers and sisters.

Steve served his country as Staff Sargeant in the Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a truck driver for thirty six years, avid deer hunter and mechanic. Steve was a loving husband, father and grandfather, great grandfather, great  great grandfather and will be missed by all.  

Surviving are his wife of forty-five years, Dolores C. (Sams) Myers,

daughter, Deborah Evon-Sumpman and her husband Patrick of Manheim, PA; son in law Barry Clem of Winchester, VA; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter;

sister, Dolores Culyba and her husband Pete of Webster, PA; many nieces and nephews.

Steve’s family will receive friends and relatives at Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA on Monday, June 13, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.  Additional visitation will take place in the funeral home on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 9:30 am until 10:30 am, the hour of his Blessing Service with Father Anthony Ditto as the Celebrant.  Interment will follow in St John the Baptist Cemetery, Perryopolis, PA with where full military rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post 7023 and American Legion Post 752.

A Wake Service will be held at the funeral home on Monday afternoon at 3 pm.
