Ronald G. Dreucci

January 6, 1948 ~ October 27, 2015 (age 67) 67 Years Old


Ronald G. Dreucci, age 67, of Perryopolis, died Tuesday, October 27, 2015, in Mon Valley Care Center.   He was born on January 6, 1948, in Pittsburgh, the son of  Gino Joseph Dreucci and Nellie Moncini Dreucci, and grew up in Monessen, PA.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Betty Jane (Forsythe) Dreucci.  

Ron was a retired professor at California University of Pennsylvania in the Industrial Arts and Technology Department.  He was an alumnus of Monessen High School and California State College, and earned a Doctorate of Education from West Virginia University.  He was active in his community as a lector and eucharistic minister at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Perryopolis. He was a past president of the Borough Council of Perryopolis, a past president of the Sons of Italy, a member of the Knights of Columbus, a former board member of the Mary Fuller Frazier Library, and a member of the St. John's Holy Name Society.

Ron is survived by his daughter, Gina Dreucci, of Perryopolis, his son, R.J. Dreucci,  his granddaughters Alyssa Jane and Mia Jane Dreucci, and RJ's girlfriend Brittney Empfield and her sons Trey and Parker Bosco.  In addition, he is survived by his sister, Joan Dreucci Trimble, her husband, Wayne, his nephew Jeremy and wife Jessica (Watson) Trimble, his niece, Emma Trimble, and his great-niece Josephine. Ron is also survived by his fiancée Shirley Elnikar, her son and daughter-in-law Edward and Lisa (Nagy) Elnikar, and her daughter  and son-in-law Anne (Elnikar) Johnson and Harry Johnson Jr., as well as their children Harry III and Julianne.  He is survived by his loving aunts Rene Moncini and Mary Moncini, both of Monessen, as well as a number of cousins.

Ron's family will receive friends on Thursday evening (October 29, 2015) from 6-8 p.m., and Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, Inc., 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA.  A prayer service will be held Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church at 10 a.m.  Interment will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Perryopolis, PA. 

A Rosary service will be held at the funeral home on Friday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Contributions can be made to the Perry Township Volunteer Fire Department in Ron's memory.
