Richard Andrew Margie

Richard Andrew Margie, Age 84, of Fayette City, PA passed away in Monongahela Valley Hospital on Saturday, January 23, 2016. He was born on October 17, 1931 in Perryopolis, PA a son of Michael Margie and Julie Yenchick Margie.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his twin brother Raymond Margie; brother Edward Margie; sisters: Elinor Beumont, Emma Nalepa.

Richard is survived by his wife of sixty one years, Lillie Yates Margie; three sons: Richie R. Margie and his wife Carla of Perryopolis, Roger L. Margie and his wife Renee of Washington, PA, Scott E. Margie of West Newton, PA; three granddaughters: Jennifer Denitti of Perryopolis, Nina Price and husband Kevin of Ambler, PA, Leigh Ann Smith and her husband Bill of Newell, PA; three great grandchildren: Lucas, Madison and Charlotte; Sister: Margaret Kovach of Perryopolis, PA.

He proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean Conflict and retired from USS Irvin Works. He will be sadly missed by all.

Richard’s family will receive friends from 2- 4 and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, Inc., 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA 15473 where his funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Carl Smith, officiating. Interment will be in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA where full military honors will be accorded at a later date.
