Paul H. Strother, Sr.  (Hack), age 70 of Whitsett, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 29, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.  He was born July 20, 1947, a son of Howard and Edna Flynn Strother.

Hack was a fisherman, enjoyed sports and his most precious times was being with his grandchildren, the loves of his life.  He loved being the jokester in the crowd and used every opportunity to do this.  He was also a proud Veteran having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Carol Strother and sister, Brenda Egenlaug.

Paul leaves behind his beloved wife of 49 years, Irma Fine Strother, his son, Paul Jr and wife, Melissa of Kansas, his daughter, Christine and Dave LaBounty of West Newton, PA; grandchildren: Cody Timms of Ft. Hood, Texas, Brittany and John VanDivner of Perryopolis, Zach and his wife Ruth of Fort Hood, TX, Christian, Kyle, Alex, Ryan Strother of Kansas and Kerri Welden of Belle Vernon.  He is also survived by the following siblings: Wanda (Joe) Siburt, Jerry (Bettymae) Strother, both of Whitsett, Glenn (Debbie) Strother of Perryopolis, Tom (Judy) Strother of Pittsburgh, PA, and Kevin (Crystal) Strother of Zelienople.

Paul’s family will receive friends on Sunday, December 3, 2017, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 pm and on Monday, December 4, 2017, from 10 a.m. to 12 Noon in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA.   A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon with Mr. Mike Vindivich officiating.

A Funeral Service will be conducted by the Belle Vernon American Legion Post 659 on Sunday at 7 p.m.

Interment will be private.
