Marianna S. (Shelkey) Tidd

Marianna S. “Shelkey” Tidd, age 95 of Perryopolis passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. She was born on February 24, 1920 in Star Junction, a daughter of John A. and Nellie Harper Shelkey.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Tidd; sisters, Esther Shelkey, Valeta Moore, Leota Klimoski, Elaine Mears; and brothers  Lewis Shelkey and Donald Shelkey.

Marianna is survived by her niece, Joeta D’Este and her husband Joseph of Pittsburgh, PA; nephew, Joel Klimoski and his wife Eleanor of Waynesboro,  PA; great nieces Hope Henicle and Jane Afshar; great nephew, Joel Aaron Klimoski; great great nephew, Collin Afshar; great great niece Clara Afshar; many additional nieces and nephews.

Marianna was a longtime resident of Perryopolis. She was a member of the Star Junction United Methodist Church and the Little Redstone United Methodist Church and a lifetime member of the Naomi Chapter #3, Order of the Eastern Star. Marianna was employed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation in Washington D.C. for 10 years.

Marianna’s family will receive friends on Monday, October 5, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, Inc. 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA. Additional visitation will take place on Tuesday until 1 pm, the hour of her funeral service with the Rev. Robert Rabenstein officiating. Interment will follow in the Bowman Flatwoods Cemetery, Vanderbilt, PA.
