Marian Louise (Kubina) Pope, age 85 of Vanderbilt passed away Saturday, December 17, 2016 at Hillside Manor Personal Care Home where she was a resident for the past few months. She was born on August 25, 1931 in New York City, NY, a daughter of Andrew Kubina and Eustine (Chase) Kubina.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Stephen Kubina.

She was a wonderful loving wife, mother and grandmother. She always said “her best life was caring for her grandchildren.” Marian always looked out for her neighbors and everyone’s needs.   She was a lifelong and very active member of the First Christian Church of Perryopolis.

 Marian is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Samuel F. Pope; daughters: Pamela Sendek and her husband Alan, Cynthia Tucker and her husband Thomas all of Perryopolis; grandchildren: Ryan Sendek and companion Linda Cosner of Chesterfield, MO, Erica Lyn and her husband Neil, of Weston FL, Lauren Tucker of Pittsburgh, PA; siblings: John Kubina and wife Joann of Dawson, Elizabeth Bielawski and her husband John of Pittsburghc, James Kubina and Joseph Kubina both of Gary, IN, Elsie Domonkos of Perryopolis, Robert Kubina and his wife Marlene of Fayette City, Michael Kubina and his wife Sandy of Terra Alta, WV and George Kubina of Vanderbilt; sister in laws, Connie Kubina of Vanderbilt and Rosemary Mongell and her husband Joe of Connellsville; many nieces and nephews; numerous friends and neighbors.

Marian’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, Rear 305 Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA.  Additional visitation will be held the following day (Thursday) at The First Christian Church next to the funeral home from 10 – 11 a.m., the hour of her funeral service with Rev. Melissa Snyder, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis, PA.

A special “thank you” to Jim, Becky and the wonderful staff at Hillside Manor for the outstanding care Marian received.
