Margaret "Peggy" Lee (Means) Chaw

Margaret “Peggy” Lee (Means) Chaw, age 64 of Perryopolis, PA passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA with her loving family by her side. She was born on July 8, 1952 in Morgantown, WV, a daughter of Samuel Wesley Means and Betty Lee Thompson Means.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, John Carl Means and her sister, Harriet Givens.

Peggy was a nurse for the Pittsburgh Veterans Administration Health System for 29 years. She lived for and adored her grandchildren.

Peggy is survived by her beloved husband, of 43 years, Dennis Albert Chaw; son, Justin Albert Chaw of Perryopolis; daughter, Melissa Hice and her husband Doug of Greensburg, PA; grandchildren: Abigail and Emma Hice; Sister, Penelope “Pennie” Christofel and her husband George of Jefferson Hills, PA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Peggy’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, February 24, 2017 in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA where her funeral service will take place at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the Rev. Michael Lyons, officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis, PA.
