Julia Mae (Silbaugh) Simon

Julia Mae (Silbaugh) Simon, age 95 of Flatwoods, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016 in Frick Hospital, Mt Pleasant with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 19, 1921 in Vanderbilt, a daughter of Arthur Silbaugh and Louisa Humberston Silbaugh.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Simon, grandson, Jimmy Simon, brother, James Silbaugh and sister, Sarah Belle McDonald.

Julia was a member of the Vanderbilt United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Sarah Mae Simon and her husband Ray of Carthage, NY, step son, Garland Simon and his wife Gaylene of Little Summit; grandchildren: Joseph A. Simon and his wife Sue, Deborah Weintraub and her husband Todd, Brenda L. Baker and her husband Dan, Tamara Moore, Laura Povirk and her husband Chris, Jeannine Shaffer and her husband Mike, Kristen Younkin and her husband Tom, Mary Beene and her husband Eric, Stacy Hahn and her husband Bob, Catherine Shipp, Lisa Knight and her husband Tim, Ginger Arteno and her husband Tony; grand daughter in law Mary Simon; many great grand children and several great great grand children.

Julia’s family will receive friends on Sunday, June 26, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA. Additional visitation will take place on Monday, June 27, 2016 until 10 a.m., the hour of her funeral service in the Vanderbilt United Methodist Church, Vanderbilt, PA with the Rev, Vickie S. Lynch, officiating.

Interment to follow in the Flatwoods-Bowman Cemetery.
