Joan E. (Rodgers) Lyons

Joan E. (Rodgers) Clem Lyons age 83 of Perryopolis died Sunday, January 10, 2016 in Country Care Manor. She was born on August 9, 1932 in Smithton, Pa a daughter of George Rodgers and Anna Marvin Rodgers.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lindy Clem and her second husband, Raymond Lyons; brothers: Robert Rodgers, George Rodgers, Jr. and Philip Rodgers.

Joan was instrumental in organizing and operating the Old State Museum in Perryopolis from 1991 until her retirement in 1999. She was also a member and on the Board of Directors of the Perry Area Heritage Society since 1989.

She is survived by her cousin, Katheryn Booher and her husband Edward of Star Junction; other cousins and many nieces and nephews.

Joan’s family would like to extend a special thank you to: her two friends, Carol Stuckslager and Shirley Parshall;. the Staff at Country Care Manor and Amedysis Hospice.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, Inc., 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA. Interment will be private in Mount Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis, PA.
