Herbert Springer

Herbert Springer, age 83 of Perryopolis passed away peacefully in the Oakhill Nursing Home, Greensburg, PA on April 8, 2016.  He was born on March 31, 1933 in Sewickley, PA. a son of Archie Springer and Lucille  Riddleman Springer. 

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Charles Springer. 

Herbert is survived by his wife of 13 years Barbara Miller Springer, Children: Debbie Rangel and her husband John, Michael Springer all of Terra Bella, CA., Mary Elizabeth Springer, Leigh Ann Springer, Herbert Springer Jr., and David Springer all of Washington, PA. and sister Mary Lou Davidson of Aliquippa, Pa.

He will be dearly missed by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family: Mike (Dotty) Roddy of Leechburg, PA, Curt (Ellen) Roddy East Sparta, Ohio, Tammy (Scott) Nedley and Jim (Stacey) Ball all of Leechburg, Pa. and Michelle (Rich) Hatbob of Lower Burrell, PA.

Herbert was a Life member of the Perryopolis VFW and George C. Marshall AmVets Post 103 of Hopwood, PA.  He was also a member  of the American Legion Post 22 Charleroi and Legion Riders Post 22 of Charleroi and a member of Gold Wing Road Riders of Belle Vernon, PA.

Herbert’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 on Friday April 15, 2016 in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA where his funeral service will take place on Saturday April 16, at 11:15 a.m. with Scott Lynch, officiating.  Interment to follow at The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at 10:30 a.m..

Memorial contributions can be made to the Charleroi American Legion Post 22 in Herbert's name.
