Carl James Falbo

January 3, 1922 ~ June 8, 2016 (age 94) 94 Years Old


Carl James Falbo, age 94 of Perryopolis, PA died on Wednesday June 8, 2016 at his home after a long and productive life. He was born on January 3, 1922, in Vanderbilt, PA, the first son of Harry Falbo and Ethel McClanahan Falbo.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Alma Elizabeth Foreman (Betty) Falbo and second wife, Mary Jane Neiderheiser; Two brothers: Albert Falbo and Donald Falbo; sister, Rohana Sisley Baird.

Carl’s first wife died at a very young age leaving him with three young children to care for. Pressured to place his children up for adoption he refused and raised them as a family.  He was a World War II veteran serving his country in the Navy in the Pacific Campaign. He was a charter member of the Perry Twp. V.F.W. Gold Star Post 7023 and a life member of the Star Junction Fish and Game Club. He enjoyed playing bingo at the Fish and Game Club and going to the Meadows and playing the penny slots.

Carl is survived by his three children: Thomas Falbo of Belle Vernon, PA, James Falbo and his wife Shirley of Perryopolis, Carol Ann Kulik_ and her husband Frank of Perryopolis, PA; grandchildren: Kevin, Jimmy, Christine, Brian, Craig, Carl, Michelle and Michael; eleven great grandchildren; a special step son, Chuck Neiderheiser and his wife, Judy of Mt Pleasant, PA; sister, Mildred Raley Cook and her husband Larry Cook of Yuma, AZ.

Carl’s family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 in the Blair-Lowther Funeral Home, 305 Rear Independence Street, Perryopolis, PA where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2016 with Pastor Chip Norton officiating. Interment to follow in Cochran Cemetery, Dawson, Pa. where full military rites will be accorded by the V.F.W. Post 7023 and American Legion Post 752.
